Italy - Verona
Europe continues to be a rich source of cast iron valve covers. Even newer ones have a rich texture and design.
Verona seems to have an unusual variety of types - especially flip covers.
2016 trip to Italy yielded the covers - 3770 - 3779.
2023 trip Nos 8302 - 8312.
In this selection one particular type is dominant. 'Leg' hinge with an arrow.
#3889 is a small inset on a bridge.
#3902 - 'Idrante' (Hydraulic Valve) is a very common cover used throughout Italy.
Note the similarity between the small 'AG SM' covers #3774 and #3775. The former is Gas. Latter, is Water, with brass on the arrow.
Similarly there are many variations of the flip covers - AGSM - Acqua/e/dotto.
A couple of larger covers #8305, #8309 are included due to naming of Verona.
Two Acquedotto covers with unusual thick casing are included: #8302, #8310.
Acquedotto / Acqua used interchangeably.
Note - lip balm for scale is 70mm long and 18mm diam.
