Iron founders and plumbers supplies. Covers made from the nineteenth century until mid 1950s.
Note the wide variety of styles. Including clamshell design #840 and heavy duty style #949 for use in roadways,

#3885 is an interesting Danks cover - J&TM on casing with MMBW inside cover. #3904 is a quite small No 198 round cover. These used to be sighted all over Melbourne. Now very few left.
