England - Stratford-on-Avon
The age old question - is it 'upon' or 'on'? Saw a number of signs with both!
For these pages UK is part of Europe!
A number of old buildings though a rather small town.
Good selection of older covers. Interesting to compare to Australian covers. Some very similar. For example the featured image indicates a 'hidden hinge' style, quite common in older covers in Melbourne suburbs. Also the small raised square design.
If someone can enlighten re 'BB' that would be good.
#6765 is probably the oldest - Abbot Birks & Co, London, S E 1.
Another early cover is #6728 'water' with three raised lugs and key slot.
Note - Lip balm for scale is 70mm long and 18mm diam.

Featured image:
#6756 - S on A. A number of covers echo this - shortened to STW. Stratford Water? Simple raised square design.
