In all these the internal cover is always large relative to the surrounding casing. Except for the newer round casing models (identified below) all inside round covers come close to the edge of the square casing. Such as #227.
This cursory study has identified two distinct models:
A - ‘Newer’ model? Raised lugs in ordered groups, rather than circles, on cover with corresponding parallel lines on casing (#207). Casing can either be square or round (#579, #1678).
B – Older model. Raised lugs in both cover and casing (#227). There is a slight variation on this model with four small ‘seating triangles’ (possibly to assist in replacing cover) sometimes occurring – CMS #792. Casing #791 has been added with missing cover. This could be of the 230mm older models as it has 'seating triangles'.
Interstingly both Crevet (#579) & Charmac (#1678) have round casing.
Subtle variations:
N- for ‘No’.
S for 'Service' - on side #792;
TEC (#207) has more information on cover: Access holes near cover edge. Screw hole on cover side. Broad arrow – either directional or indication of government connection.
Charmac has two models. One of which has round casing (#1678). Both id indicates ‘Charmac 199’.
Two Jenco models - #999 and #5535. Latter very recent model. Note the additional name on casing.
7 addition covers added courtesy Owen Genat.
Note CMS #3882, has id 45 degrees to left of #792. Subtle variations between covers.
