Europe continues to be a rich source of cast iron valve covers. Even newer ones have a rich texture and design.
Florence the city that gave the world the famous Medici banking family and the 'Renaissance' also provides a rich array of valve covers.
2016 & 2017 trips yielded these selections.
Sienna was eventually under the control of Florence. Their covers are specifically identified.
Note the fleur-de-lys symbol for the city. Appears on many covers. Including basic drainage - #6401, #6402. A highlighted image is #6407. Acquadotto #6404 (round) and #6405 (elliptical) also feature the city's symbol.
#6417 shows a livestock block with drainage holes.
Many covers look identical but have subtle differences. Example being Gas #6488 & #6525. The design is identical, however the word GAS is larger on the latter.
Note - lip balm for scale is 70mm long and 18mm diam.
